2018-2019 Year in Review

Providing global education opportunities to students, faculty, and staff across our community of colleges has always been a core component of our mission. Once again, this year we focused on expanding the opportunities for international education for current students and faculty.

Our Pillars

The achievements over the past fiscal year align with our five Global Engagement pillars, benefiting students, faculty, partner colleges, as well as communities around the world.

International Education

  • 20+ international education programs visited more than 25 countries
  • 500+ students participated in global programming
  • 183 days spent abroad by students, faculty, and staff

International Students

  • International student population, representing 55 unique countries, has increased to 5%
  • Six micro-credential programs across the System served more than 90 participants, covering topics such as international psychology, early childhood education, and leadership

Academic Partnerships

  • Education Beyond Borders in South Africa had representation from all five affiliate universities
  • Joint initiatives
    • LEAP School in Johannesburg, South Africa
    • Krems Silicon Valley Executive Leadership
    • Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) Faculty Exchange

Faculty Global Engagement

  • 22 internationalization grants were awarded, supporting 33 faculty member initiatives in Germany, Egypt, Peru, Austria, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Costa Rica, India, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Australia, and Rwanda
  • 25 global lectures and seminars provided to the community

Community Service

  • 1,500+ hours of international community service
